World Mental Health Day Activities
Mental health isan important and integral part of public health, and health is not complete without mental health. It includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being that affects the way we think, feel, act, and communicate with others. It also helps to determine how to deal with stress and make informed decisions. Therefore, World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10 of each year with the aim of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world, and dedicating efforts to support mental health. And the importance of health promotion The Student Work Unit, represented by the Social and Cultural Activities and the Community Service Unit, at the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in Wadi Al-Dawasir, held an event entitled (World Mental Health Day Activities). On Thursday, 17/3/1444 AH at 12 noon in Hall (B-12) of the college, where the event aims to enhance the mental health of students. It was presented by Dr. Magda Mahmoud Gemayel (Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs). It dealt with the concept of mental health, its principles, Maslow's clarification of needs, Islam's approach to achieving mental health, factors that threaten mental health, and golden tips to improve mental health. The event was well received by the attendees. The event was coordinated and arranged by the coordinator of social and cultural activities and supervisor of the Student Work and Community Service Unit at the college, Dr. Attiyat Muhammad Hassan.
