Introduction
Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University acknowledges the importance of student participation in achieving university goals. The advisory student councils within the colleges are established to enhance educational quality and maintain the university's excellence.
Student Council Objectives (Article 1)
The objectives of the student councils are to:
- Establish channels of communication between students and the college administration.
- Submit recommendations to the college administration that enhance students' general interests.
- Instill values of academic excellence and integration within an interactive learning environment.
- Foster leadership skills among students.
Formation of the Student Council (Article 2)
The council is formed by a decision from the college council, including a supervisor from the dean of the college and eight students elected directly.
Election Rules (Article 3)
The student must be registered in the college, have a good conduct record, and not have any academic warnings or disciplinary actions. Voting is conducted via direct ballot.
Membership Termination Rules (Article 4)
Membership terminates in certain cases, such as graduation, misconduct, or unexcused absence from meetings.
Council Structure and Duties (Article 5)
The council includes a supervisor from the dean, a president, a vice president, and a secretary. It organizes student activities, supports student needs, and proposes developmental initiatives.
Council Powers (Article 6)
The council has the right to introduce new tasks and propose amendments to the bylaws with the approval of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Council Convening System (Article 7)
The council convenes every two weeks or as needed, with decisions made by majority vote.
General Assembly (Article 8)
The assembly comprises all registered students in the college and convenes annually to exchange ideas and suggestions.
Council Dissolution (Article 9)
The council can be dissolved if half the members resign or if rules are violated, with a letter submitted to the Deanship of Student Affairs to set a new election date.
