Executive Summary of Strategic Plan
In line with the strategic guidelines of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University on excellence in education, development of scientific research, and the promotion of partnership and social responsibility, and in light of the university's 2030 strategic plan, which identifies its vision, mission, and objectives, the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Wadi Addawasir prepared its 2030 strategic plan, which will be carried out over the university years 1440H – 2018G until 1452H – 2030G.
This plan will not only align with the university's guidelines on excellence but will assist in accomplishing the university's objectives to occupy its leadership position among universities at national and international level. Today, colleges of applied medical sciences are obligated to improve the quality of their performance in order to raise the level of its outcomes and provide highly qualified graduates to the labor market.
The Objectives of Preparing the Strategic Plan:
The strategic plan for the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Wadi Addawasir, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, has been prepared for the next 12 years (from university year 1439/1440H to university year 1451/1452 Hm) according to the following data:
· Prepare a strategic plan for the college related to and compatible with the vision, mission, and objectives of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
· Analyze the college's current situation by conducting an analysis of the internal and external work environments, and include details of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, challenges, and threats.
· Identification of a clear and specific vision, mission, and objectives for the college.
· Identification of the college's strategic objectives and the initiatives that contribute to achieving them.
· Identification of performance indicators (benchmark) to measure the speed of achievement and the quality of performance at the college.
· Provide a work organization based on planning and commitment to accomplish duties through a scheduled work plan, and that is compatible with guidelines on the methodology of preparing the strategic plan identified by the University Vice-Presidency for Development and Quality at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
- Strategic Plan Building Methodology:
1. Formation of strategic plan preparation team.
2. Analysis of current situation using SWOT Analysis technique.
3. Identification of benchmarks and best practices in strategic option identification.
4. Identification of strategic objectives and performance indicators.
5. Identification of operational goals.
6. Identification of risk management plan.
7. Identification of communication plan to activate performance with evaluation and follow-up mechanisms; develop a change management plan.
